Chicken Salad on Wonderful Wheat
At the The Masters Tournament, the chicken salad sandwich is all about simplicity. Creamy, smooth chicken salad served on soft wheat bread, nothing extra, just a classic done right.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf Clasen’s wonderful wheat bread
- 4 cups cooked chicken, finely shredded white meat
- ⅓ cup celery, diced very small
- 1 cup mayonnaise (use a high-quality mayo)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon finely ground black pepper
Instructions
- Finely shred the cooked chicken, breaking it down with your hands or a knife until the texture is soft and uniform with no large chunks.
- Add the chicken to a large mixing bowl along with the finely diced celery, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper.
- Stir thoroughly, pressing and mixing until the chicken salad becomes smooth and creamy.
- Lay out slices of Clasen’s wonderful wheat bread and scoop a generous portion of chicken salad onto one slice.
- Spread evenly to the edges, top with another slice of bread, and cut in half to serve.
