Bienenstich is a cake, that translated, means, Bee Sting Cake. One source cites a legend of German bakers from the 15th century who lobbed beehives at raiders from a neighboring village, successfully repelling them, and later celebrated by baking a version of this cake, named after their efforts.
This torte is frozen. please store it in your freezer before serving. For serving please allow it to come to room temperature for the best flavor. We recommend 1-2 hours for a 7" and 20-30 mins for a slice depending on how warm your room is.
